Review over different writing composition structures such as narrative, persuasive, compare and contrast, and literature response. Depending on grade level, we prepare according to Common Core Standards and also prepare them for the following grade school year. Lower levels would concentrate more on compositions, while upper grade levels would focus on Document Based Questions and Literature Response Essays. Literature response essays require analysis, understanding, and interpretation of stories through using examples of figurative language. This class will build creative writing skills along with Common Core based projects to reinforce standards. Common Core learning needs a strong basis in writing and analytical thinking so these writing skills can be applied to other Common Core subjects.
BLC Summer Language Arts Classes
Learn ahead in mathematical concepts that will be covered next year! We will be following new Common Core standards and provide a curriculum for the students so that we can meet goals of achieving confidence along with mastery of standards. Along with teaching students about the topic, we will also be including study skills, note taking, self discipline study habits, and test strategy review throughout the course. Class consist of students partaking in note taking, review of lesson each day, practicing on wide range of problems, and reinforcing concepts at home with extra practice.
