Breakthrough School Year 2022-2023
RESERVE School Year 2022-2023 NOW
to RESERVE TIME AND SPACE before Registration closes.

It has been a tough road for everyone as our schools adjust to recreating a curriculum to meet California standards. With the knowledge and experience in seeing what direction the California education system is headed towards, we have been able to understand what type of adjustments all public schools in California will be going through in order to keep students and teachers safe along with providing a readjusted pacing guide for classrooms.
With our understanding and experience of the school curriculum changes, we believe it is essential for students to continue to have a strong foundation within their studies so that they will always be above the curves of competition. This will not only continue to prepare them for their current classes, but it will provide a path of stability and strong independent work ethic that is needed for their career paths.
Right now is a great time for students to get prepared for the transition of higher expectations from school along with filling in the missing gaps from decreased hours of school classroom time. This will allow for more open opportunities for our students in the future. Don’t miss out on preparing your child/children for a future filled with success.Register for Breakthrough classes to continue to build foundations and advance in learning.

BLC School Year Sessions 2022-2023
School year tutoring sessions are geared towards keeping a strong, stable grade point average, enhancing study skills, developing motivation along with confidence, and creating self discipline in study habits with time management. Our understanding of California’s education system gives us a major advantage in relating to our students. We know that in order to achieve high levels of success, students must have organizational skills, consistency, and reinforcement in their studies. There are different sessions offered throughout the school year, depending on what type of program you are looking for. All students have an individualized curriculum because every student has his or her own needs. Curriculums will be intuitively developed based on each student’s strengths and weaknesses. It is our job as Breakthrough Instructors and Mentors to understand and be intuitive of each student’s thought pattern and process in order to provide a strong individualized program. Breakthrough offers One-One, Closed Group, and Classroom sessions which will include Online and In Person Sessions currently as a hybrid method.

Type of Sessions

1. Breakthrough Homework Help Sessions
Homework help is more of an independent, individualized program for students to focus on their current homework from school. A strong focus in keeping a high grade point average along with a strong foundation in concepts learned in class is the main goal. In this session, students attend class, get questions answered, and complete their homework. They can also attend sessions to concentrate on a specific subject, study for a test, or review over an essay from school. Our Breakthrough instructors have Bachelors and/or Masters Degree with years of teaching experience in tutoring learning centers, school district or college level teaching. An instructor is available to review over questions or concepts with each student. Sessions can be individualized according to the subjects students have most trouble in. We have many years of experience in working with California Standards curriculum and school districts in the communities around, including Placentia-Yorba Linda School District, Anaheim School District, Orange School District, Fullerton School District, and Alvord Unified School District.
- Math Homework Help Sessions: These sessions will be geared towards aiding students to understanding the math topics they are currently learning in school. Instructors will provide a brief lesson overview of what students will learn according to the Big Ideas textbooks or concepts provided. Students will also have the opportunity to ask instructors to teach concepts that they did not understand in school or any homework questions.
- Language Arts Homework Help Sessions
- Science Homework Help Sessions (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics)

2. Breakthrough Language Arts and Math Accelerated Classes
When students are transitioning well in school, creating an accelerated curriculum provides a great opportunity for students to build interest, confidence, and advance in a subject. Accelerated learning courses are designed for students who want to learn ahead of their grade level curriculum through the school year or to jump math grade levels according to district standards. We can concentrate on a specific subject, review California Common Core Standards for grade level, and provide diverse activities and Common Core projects for each student to be involved and engaged in topics. These are individualized programs for each student in which we will provide a goal oriented curriculum that will create a strong foundation and build on any weaknesses. We try to be as creative and innovative as we can by understanding a student’s learning pattern and adjusting the curriculum to match the learning style. All resources are provided and will be used to engage students in learning and expand horizons in ways of learning.
- Language Arts accelerated classes will be based on a set BLC curriculum to aid with writing composition, reading comprehension/analysis, and grammar review. Depending on levels, students will review over types of writing compositions which include narrative, expository, compare and contrast, persuasive/opinion, and response to literature essays. Although there is a set curriculum, our instructors will also individualize student curriculums so that we can reach out to our students strengths and weaknesses.
- Math Accelerated classes provide an overview of math concepts that students will be learning the following year. This can aid students in creating a strong foundation and allow them to prepare them for future challenge exams if students would like to skip a math level. We use the same books that students use from Placentia Yorba Linda School District and provide a curriculum that goes hand in hand with what they will learn in school.

We can create a group session with other students who are in the same class. These Closed Group Sessions will create cohesion and allow more interactive learning for each student as we move into common core. Students will be learning all the same topics at the same level. There will still be individualized curriculums as each student is different in his or her understanding of concepts.
